Home Business-Not A Hobby
Home Business-Not A Hobby. Will be the topic of this article today. We are going to explore the so called free business opportunity. The work at home jobs that are offered to stay at home moms and students. The so called “(get rich quick)” jobs, that will offer you the world but will not come through with nothing but heartache and empty pockets.
I believe many of of us at some point or the other have seen the late night infomercial. Detailing some newfangled product or webinar to attend, to occupy or free time just to come away with something that we really don’t need or want.
It is those kind of things that just burn me up inside. But still I keep going to hunt for that shinny brass ring that does not exist, or does it? Most all of us want to be financially secure to the point where money is not a driving force in our lives.
We want our finances to be covered for that next bill or financial situation that may come up from time to time. Like when the car breaks down right after the mortgage is paid. Maybe you get a notice for taxes owed that you were not aware of.
Wouldn’t it be great if we were in a position where those concerns would be met and still our income did not run dry, where we would have to rob Peter to pay Paul. This is what the Topic will focus on. We must still remember that this is still a job, not a hobby. Like any job it must be worked to reap the real rewards.
Work At Home Job For Moms And Students:
First of all these type of jobs do exist. Most of the time many of these positions require an up front fee to start working for the employer or company. Before you consider giving up any of your hard earned money. I would advise you to first check with the BBB ( better business bureau) and make sure they say who they claim to be.
I would then check any references that you can find on them. finally check any negative responses on the web about them. If everything seems to add up and it feel right in your gut try it out. You also need to verify that if you are not happy with this company you can get your money back.
Other jobs a stay at home mom or student can do are:
- become a dog or cat sitter
- Teach people over the internet English or another language
- Set up a time to take the elderly to and from there home to the doctor.
- Tutor others with homework
- Customer service representative
- Data collection agent
- Appointment setter
- Parent / child observer
- Grocery shopper
- Writer, typist, blogger
- Online E-Commerce
There are many many more jobs available. Any that you choose always dig deeper then just the job title. Many can be found by different job search engines or you can be creative and make one up on your own.
You can get extravagant and write up a contract and draw up all the legal stuff like like sole proprietorship to get a business license and get a business bank account. That way if it gets big you can keep track of the income so the IRS gets there portion.
How To locate A good Legitimate Business:
Now you have determined that you want a home business. Fantastic, how do you keep from stuffing your money down a rat hole and being scammed. What do you do?
One way is to hunt for an Internet Business Broker. That is a person who deals with businesses that were owned by someone else and now they are up for sale, for one reason or the other. I have a quick link that I want to show you.
So you can gather more information as to what all is available out there in the internet broker market. Click on the Acquisitions direct to learn more.another good source to help you start your business and not have lots of expense to invest is click the link and have design crowd set you up with a website, business cards, logo design , and other great advertising needs to get you started.
I have done lots of digging around online and found a short video to help you a bit better what types of jobs are the best ones to do on the internet. So sit back and give a listen to my friend Miles as he tells you more.
Keeping Your Business Legal:
Now that you are on your way and the basic nuts and bolts are determined. What legal things are needed? That is what we will discuss in this segment.
Things to consider when opening for business:
- A logo, it can be created free with canva.com or it can be set up by a graphic designer and a premium price may result. Another great and reasonable way to pay for a logo is with fiverr.com
- You should consider a business license. It keeps things legal with the government. most county clerks offices can do this for about 25.00. You should not have to pay for a license on the internet for hundreds of dollars. That is a scam if you are not careful.
- If your business is a sole proprietorship a LLC usually is not needed. If it is a brick and mortar store then yes it might be needed. ( check with your local county clerks office for more information)
- A business checking account may be a good idea. That way you will have a good idea where your money is going. This is where your license will come in. most all companies that you will be doing business with will require your EIN number. This will be on your business license.
- Consider printing off some business cards with your logo. About 250-500 to start. Have them on you everywhere you go. Give them out to others and it will lead to a ice breaker about your business. I have used vistaprint.com in the past and have never had a bad experience.
How To Get Internet Traffic:
This is a million dollar question now a days. There are several ways to get internet Traffic to your website. Obviously you can go buy lists for internet traffic. But if you are just starting out that might not be in your best interest.
Then creative ways to get free internet traffic is to go to social media sites and interact with others and find out what people are looking for and are asking about. This takes time to do and you need to stay in the game so to speak to make you draw more people. Find a common ground with others. If you are a veteran start making friends with other veterans. If you like motorcycles, again start making friend with other bikers.
Another good thing to try is to join forums , directories, and other website bloggers. I have just started to do this and have noticed lots of increase. Here is a good tip about joining forums directories and bloggers.
Always and I do mean always leave comments. It is good for both you and the other source. It is also appreciated and will go along ways. those comments can have your website link in them and will stay there forever they will not be torn down.
I am including a link to hubspot.com they offer 57 directories to link to for more traffic.
Now Regarding forums. There are all different types some have a free trial. Simply search the subject you are looking for and you are bound to come up with something. lots of them tend to be software purchases. So budget your funds wisely.
Another great way to generate traffic is through email sign up if you are using a website. It is best if you offer something like a free e-book or something else free to the subscriber that will make a difference.
Webinars and podcasts can also be an effective tool but that will require an investment. I don’t recommend this starting out but it can be a goal to attain in the future.
Another great tool to use that can generate leads to your website business is using youtube. You can set up a free account and videotape something for your business or you can embed a video of what your topic is from someone else. The length of the video is no longer than 8.00 min. Any longer and you may loose people.
